International Documentary Projects

Our International documentary projects are produced in partnership with the School of Social Ecology and the Blum Center for Poverty Alleviation as part of the Blum/Living Peace Global Service Scholars. This program is rooted in compassion, and pairs rigorous academic preparation with an international service-learning trip during which Scholars learn to put that compassion to practical use.

The three DigiFilm undergraduates selected for the documentary projects spent four-weeks filming South Africa, Paraguay and Nepal. This is a transformative and exceedingly rare opportunity for undergraduate film students at any university.

The filmmakers document the work of the Global Service Scholars as well as develop their own documentary films from their work with the host sites. The resulting films are significant achievements for the filmmakers and premiere in the UCI Collegiate Showcase at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
