UCI ANNUAL STUDENT FILM FESTIVAL
DigiFilm Festival is a free and open to the public, faculty-curated showcase of the best film work produced by students in the Digital Filmmaking program. The festival is held the last Thursday in Spring Quarter. The DigiFilm program is host to undergraduate students from across the entire UCI campus. The festival is the capstone UCI experience for undergraduate students, and the experience of a public film screening is a critical tool in the development of young filmmakers. The festival is also outreach that celebrates undergraduate creative film research with the entire campus, friends and family. The films featured in the showcase run a wide gamut of styles and forms including experimental, documentary, and narrative. The DigiFilm Festival Awards are given in eight categories.
The DigiFilm Festival began in 2010 and quickly maxed out the capacity of the filmmaking Sound Stage. The special evening is now held out doors and under the stars in the Arts Amphitheater. After two years of live-streaming during pandemic lockdown, we return to an in-person festival for June 2022.
To produce the festival event we partner with the DigiFilm Society at UC Irvine, the student group connected with our academic program.
